Founding Fruits is the fifth episode of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange TV series.
Plot
As the episode begins, a watermelon explodes as part of Independence Day celebrations, leaving Orange amused but confused. Nerville explains that humans celebrate Independence Day with fireworks, inspiring Orange and the others to wonder if fruits have a similar holiday. Grandpa Lemon introduces them to Fruitdependence Day, the most important fruit holiday, wearing a powdered wig and explaining its historical significance. He tells the tale of how fruits once lived under the tyrannical rule of King George the Grapefruit, who forced everyone to watch him flex 24/7. The fruits eventually fled to the "New World" to escape, only to be devoured by seagulls. Fortunately, the seagulls scattered the seeds of the fruit ancestors, and thus New Fruitland was born—from seagull droppings. King George the Grapefruit, jealous of the colonists' freedom, put tacks on the fruits there, causing the fruits to write the Declaration of Fruitdependence, which made King George the Grapefruit angrier than ever. In response, he sent "Vegcoats" (vegetable soldiers) to enforce his rule. Orange Washington, a parody of George Washington, led the fruits in rebellion using insult bombs and seed warfare. The battle escalates until the Vegcoats are defeated by relentless mockery, and King George concedes defeat, agreeing to rename himself King Engorged and to stop flexing. Orange Washington is honored as the first fruit president, paving the way for plant-based leaders like Abraham Lincorn and Jimmy Carter. Back in the present, Orange and friends are astonished to learn that Grandpa Lemon is actually Benjamin Franklemon, making him over 200 years old—thanks to lemon preservation and a love for older women. Just as the revelation sinks in, a seagull swoops down, attacking Grandpa Lemon, once again reminding them all of the ongoing fruit-seagull conflict.
