Bartlett Pear was a new neighbor of Orange and the gang's that moved in next door to them in THE OBNOXIOUS KUMQUAT. Orange and the gang went to go introduce themselves, and Bartlett greeted them. He noticed that Pear was holding a book called "Gouda is Not Great" by Christopher Kitchens, which happened to be both Bartlett and Pear's favorite author. Bartlett then told the rest to go in and meet the rest of the gang before discussing literature in a quieter place with Pear.
