Jalapeño (full name Javier Jalapeño according in Too Many Fruits; also known as Chili Gordo and by many other names) was the secondary protagonist and main subject of the AO episode Jalapeño.
History[]
Early life[]
Jalapeño as a child
In his youth, Jalapeño was very similar to Orange, because he was annoying food such as Habanero who got knifed at the end of the flashback.
Season 2[]
In the episode "Jalapeño", the Fruit Basket Group admires and adores him, and he is one of the few characters who doesn't get annoyed by Orange. However, he was knifed, and in his final words, he asked for Orange to keep the passion burning.
Personality[]
Jalapeño was a very popular and charming pepper, which leads to fruits from a fruit basket to woo him. He was also very nice and friendly. Jalapeño took an interest in Orange, and said that he possessed the burning light of passion. He was a skilled and persuasive singer as well.

He was kind and friendly to Orange and he doesn't get annoyed.

Nothing much known about his relationship between him and Pear.

During his youth, he annoyed Habanero to death until Habanero got knifed.
Trivia[]
- Jalapeño is the fourth character to not scream while getting knifed (the first being Grandpa Lemon).
- As a child, he had the highest voice of any character (even higher than either Marshmallow, Fred Figglehorn or Nutcracker) and was annoying like Orange. Ironically, as an adult, he had the lowest voice of any character.
- He is so far the only jalapeño pepper in the series.
- His voice actor was also the Bamboo Cutter from Studio Ghibli's The Tale of the Princess Kaguya.
- His knifing scene was the longest (even longer than Mango), being 38 seconds long.
- As a child, he is the first character other than Orange to yell "Knife!". The second is Grapefruit in Best Fiends Forever while the third is Tomato in April Fruits Day.
- He was one of two characters with a sultry voice. The second was Honey Bear.
- He said one of the deepest lines ever, stating that someday everyone will get knifed.
